Edessa, a city with a great historic heritage, was an important city in the past and is well-known for its waterfalls. You can explore amazing paths, see rivers flowing, and witness unique views, including a small cave beneath the waterfall.

Vergina, also known as Aigai, was the first capital of Macedon and is famous for its extensive royal palace. In 336 BC, Philip II was assassinated in Aigai’s theater, and his son Alexander the Great was proclaimed king. The archaeological museum of Vergina houses all the artifacts found at the site and is one of the most important museums in Greece. Aigai has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status as “an exceptional testimony to a significant development in European civilization, at the transition from classical city-state to the imperial structure of the Hellenistic and Roman periods.”

Veria, a city located next to Vergina, is known as one of the centers of Jewish culture, with a big community of Romaniots and Sephardic Jews. During the trip, you can explore the history of the local community as told by the locals of Veria and visit the preserved Jewish Quarter of Veria and the Synagogue, which has stood there for centuries.
